About the Author:-
Josephyne Ho is a writer and illustrator based in Singapore. Josephyne has been in the Early Childhood field for twenty years and has a postgraduate degree in Early Childhood Education. She enjoys tending to her balcony garden and dabbling in a range of hobbies in her free time.
In 2020, Josephyne started to write and learn drawing and painting during the Covid pandemic. She enjoys water colour painting as she finds the media versatile to beginners and calming to her soul. Josephyne also likes to use watercolor as she thinks it helps her achieve a softer touch and a dreamlike effect to her illustrations.
About the Illustrator:-
Christy Mok is a budding artist who enjoys drawing and painting in her free time. A True Chinese New Year Story is Christy’s maiden foray into the world of children’s book illustration. To illustrate the beautiful and lively images for this book, Christy mainly used watercolour, an art media that is close to her heart. Christy is from Malaysia and she is currently based in Singapore. Using her new digital painting skills, Christy was able to combine her love for watercolour and at the same time create more details in her artwork.
About the Editor:-
Valerie Lim is married with a young daughter. She was a school teacher for more than fifteen years and has a postgraduate degree in English and Linguistics. Valerie enjoys reading a wide genre of books, both in English and Chinese. Valerie likes travelling as the authentic experiences teach her more about life itself than what books can teach. One of her favourite quotes, by Marcel Proust, is “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”
